presentation on the current legislative issues affecting Ohio's PEs. In
his longer presentation, Warino highlighted a number of topics, including OSPE's efforts to eliminate threats to your Ohio PE
license. He also provided a more detailed legislative advocacy training for
engineers.

Happy PE Day!
Happy Professional Engineers Day -- the first Wednesday of August! OSPE is joining the National Society of Professional Engineers in celebrating YOU, the Professional Engineer, and all the work that you do!
Since the early 1900's, licensure has expanded and professional engineers across the U.S. have made the commitment to protect the public health, safety and welfare.
Walter W. Graf, Ohio PE #1
The first-ever Ohio professional engineer was Walter W. Graf, who became licensed in 1933. He was one of the five original members appointed to the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. In addition to being Ohio PE #1, he was also Ohio's first-ever professional surveyor (Ohio PS #1). Graf lived from 1896-1970. He was city engineer for the City of Lancaster for nearly 48 years and, in 1943, he served as president of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers.
Help NSPE raise awareness about what it means to be a PE, recognize licensed PEs and show appreciation for the work PEs do each and every day!
