leaders are invaluable to their organizations. As an engineering
leader, you are challenged to step beyond your technical expertise and
motivate the engineering team to meet the organization’s goals.
Engineering organizations invest leadership training in upwardly-mobile
engineers. Tailored for engineers, this interactive leadership training
program will teach you how to motivate others and develop your range of
leadership strategies. Dr. David Bayless, PhD, PE, is the Chair and a Professor of
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Missouri University of Science
and Technology. Previously, he was the Gerald Loehr Professor in the
Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ohio University and the Director
of the OU Russ College’s Robe Leadership Institute.
You will learn:
- How you make decisions & what drives your personal leadership style
- Multiple ways to influence others at every level of your organization
- Skills for improving team performance & cohesion
- Reflection skills to link new leadership concepts to your own experiences
- The art of applying your skills to specific leadership
situations (e.g., leading peers, handling difficult conversations, fuzzy
ethical situations)
Tuition: $154 for members of NSPE/NSPE-Ohio; $220 for nonmembers.
