Engineer Your Career

Let's take a close look at engineering.

Engineering is a profession that is regulated by law in every state and territory of the U.S. and in most countries around the world. In Ohio, if you graduate from an accredited engineering college program, you are considered an “engineer.” But, to take the next step in your engineering career, you will want to become a licensed “professional engineer” so you can practice outside industry. Professional engineers must pass two engineering examinations to obtain their licenses from the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors. Most employers require engineers to be registered.

Engineering is divided into several subfields, covering all aspects of science and technology. Inside this publication you can find a list of Ohio Universities offering ABET accredited engineering programs.
